This week, instead of being assigned a photoshop assignment to do, we got to find our own tutorials and practice some new techniques on our own instead of doing the exact same thing as everyone else. At first I wanted to do a double exposure effect, but I couldn't find any great pictures for that, so I decided to keep looking. I found this disintegration effect video by 'Photoshop Tutorials' on Youtube, and decided to follow the instructions. I was pretty excited about it. It only required me to download a cracked texture and some new brushes for photoshop.

In photoshop, I masked the model (Nina Dobrev), used the Liquify tool to drag the sides of her face and body out, downloaded some new brushes, added a cracked texture, changed the clarity and exposure of the image, and changed the color of her eyes from brown to purple. This assignment took me a little while but it was worth it because I love the way I turned out. The only thing I would have changed now would be to fix the mask on her hair (I think it's pretty shaky). I learned a lot in this tutorial and I hope to do it again.
