In the school context assignment, we were asked to use Photoshop to change the context of something we normally see throughout the school day. We had to take a picture of the school (as you can see I took a picture of the stairs) and edit something in there to make it look like there was something completely different going on (e.g. dinosaurs on the football field or Harry Potter in the bathroom). This was a really fun and creativity-testing project that I learned a lot from, such as making the background of an image transparent so we could put it into the background image of the school!
Here is the plain, unedited picture I took of the stairs at school:

To get to the final image displayed above, I had to do several things in Photoshop. I was obviously going for a waterfall effect, and the bears that stand by the waterfalls and catch the jumping salmon immediately came to mind. Therefore, after pasting in several waterfalls and making them look just right, I added in a bear holding a salmon, several rocks and some moss hanging from the wall. I was originally planning on photoshopping some dinosaurs into the football field, but then I realized that I would just not have enough time in class to get a red sky, some volcanoes, at least three dinosaurs and a cracked open ground into there. So, I went to my second thought - stairs and waterfalls! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I learned a lot about transparent backgrounds in this project and I hope I can apply that knowledge to future projects.
